ABOUT

Taryn Crankshaw is an actress, playwright and director . A proud graduate of Sheridan College and McMaster University, she most recently enjoyed studying improv at Second City’s Training Centre in Toronto. Onstage, her credits include Shakespeare Soup (Sheridan College), Framed: A Story of Artists (McMaster University, School of the Arts Fall Major), and Unity: (1918) (McMaster University, School of the Arts Fall Major). Favourite onscreen credits include May (Lesley Loski Chan/Cloudy Pixels Productions) and Cass in Real Life (Rebecca Moshé-Steinberg/Papermoon Productions).

 

Last summer, she co-wrote and starred in the short film, Repossession, which was an official selection at the Fright Night Theatre Film Festival, Hamilton Comedy Film Festival and featured in CinéWomen Cahiers. Behind the scenes, she has enjoyed co-directing and co-writing productions such as The Bell Ringer (Hamilton Fringe Festival) and IRIS (McMaster Student Success Centre). 

 

In 2013, Taryn co-founded Blending Reality Productions, a Hamilton-based theatre and film company committed to creating new works by emerging artists. In addition, Taryn has enjoyed working for organizations such as Toronto International Film Festival and NewMusicalTheatre.com. Whether it’s onstage or behind the scenes, Taryn is committed to promoting cultural discovery through the arts. 

Taryn is a member of the Canadian Musical Theatre Writers Collective.
